Damage Limitations for David Ahead of the TT
Da
vid and his father John have been hard at work for the past 2 weeks repairing crash damage and several mechanical failures with David’s Triumph Daytona 675. It has been a great rush to prepare the bike ahead of the Isle of Man TT this week, nevermind round 4 of the British Superbikes last weekend. Unfortunatly we did not get the new suspension in time for the pre-TT test at Anglesey the other weekend, with the help of Chris Moore from MKW suspension David and John were left to set the suspension up at Cadwell during the BSB meeting, which is less than ideal. The focus was on getting a good set-up for the Isle of Man, whilst David still needed a good showing at Cadwell Park.
Even with all the engine and suspension issues prior to the event David continued to improve on last year’s performances, lapping once again 2 seconds quicker than his previous p.b. His qualifying time was a 1:32.263(previous: 1:34.5) which put him 22 on the grid. David rode a steady and calm race with one eye on the TT in 4 days time, despite this David stayed in touching distance of the front cup runners and came home 5th and 19th overall.
We are pleased with the result considering the track time David lost setting up the new suspension, he is now only 6 points off the lead in the Cup Championship and is feeling confident ahead of his debut at the TT. Once again thanks to our sponsors and the bikerplace.com
