Britain’s Graeme Gowland was still getting to grips with his Berry Racing Honda in the 7th round of the World Supersport Championship at the Misano Circuit, after making his debut on it at the last round.
The Misano circuit, which is located close to San Marino, was another new circuit for the reigning Spanish Supersport Champion but he improved his lap time in every session to post a lap time of 1:42.162 in the second and final qualifying session to qualify just 2.7 seconds off the pole position man Broc Parkes.
The race proved to be a hard fought one for Gowla in the intense Italian heat as he had a race long battle with a group of five riders and took the chequered flag in 24th.
Graeme Gowland: “It has been a tough weekend for both me and the team as we have just a short time to set the bike up in the sessions but we are moving in right direction with the bike. I am looking forward to the test at Vallelunga where we will have more time and no pressure to try different things on the bike and find a setting for my style that I am comfortable with.”
Gowla will head back to Italy next week for a test at the Vallelunga Circuit which will allow him to explore settings on his Berry Racing Honda CBR600RR before the 8th round at the Czech Republic circuit of Brno on July 18th - 20th.
