Casey Stoner went second fastest despite only putting in 27 laps (the fewest of any rider) due to a combination of technical difficulties and the fact he is working his way back in following injury. Fiat Yamaha rookie Jorge Lorenzo was impressive once again as he breached the 2′01 barrier for the first time at the track in which he claimed his second 250cc championship in 2007. His teammate and multiple world champion Valentino Rossi was sixth fastest on day three.
Colin Edwards put in the fourth fastest time for his Tech 3 Yamaha team, with James Toseland not far behind as the 8th fastest rider as he continued his progress on the 800cc machine.

It’s great for Nicky and the Repsol Honda team. They must have been working really hard with Pedrosa not around. Lorenzo and Toseland are learning pretty fast too.
