Jack Blake

My name is Jack Blake, i’m 15 and I come from Romford in Essex. I started racing in 2002 on a minimoto at the age of about 9, until 2004 and during those years I never finished outside the top 3 in a championship. I had some brilliant races with Danny Kent, Jamie Mossey, Luke Mossey, and Danny Webb, mostly in 2003 but mainly with Danny Kent in 2004 because the others had moved up on to other bikes.
I then moved up onto a Metrakit 50cc which was my first year on a geared bike, I had brilliant races with Max Wadsworth who had been racing Metrakits the year before. I ended up 2nd overall in the 50cc British Metrakit Championship behind Max. I also broke two lap records on the 50cc one being Scott Redding’s (i think).
I then moved up onto a Metrakit 70cc for 2006 but I only attended 4 out of the 9 rounds because my Dad became ill with cancer, I still managed to get 5th in the championship and take 2 pole positions and race wins.
Then in 2007 we decided to move up onto an Aprilia RS125 in the Aprilia Challenge. This year I had to ride and do all of the mechanics on my bikes myself because my Dad passed away at the begining of 2007, so it was not only going to be a hard season riding, but emotionally too.

I managed to hold it together and get some brilliant results. I got some podium finishes and broke 3 lap records along with Danny Kent and James Folkard, James being the championship winner. I got 7th overall in the series and finished not only top rookie but also got presented with the Metropolitran Trophy which has some names on it like Phil Read, Frank Perris, Mike Hailwwood (just some of the big names on the trophy).
All year I had to rebuild my engines myself and change pistons and pretty much do everything else that needed doing and I only had one breakdown, so I was very pleased and pretty proud of myself because I had never realy done much, bits and bobs but nothing that technical so i just taught myself.
In 2008 i’m running in the MRO Superteens Championship title and the Aprilia Challenge, i’m currently leading the MRO Superteens championship and 5th in the Aprilia Challenge because of a DNF at the first round in Race 2 but i’m also leading the EMRA Formula 125cc championship.
At the moment it is only me and my mum funding my racing so I am looking hard for sponsors and people to help out, because everything helps. But I am doing stickers, signs and graphics so every bit of profit from that goes straight to racing. I have a couple of small sponsors, Hyside Motorcycles, Sterling Panel Craft and I am very grateful for what they do. I also have a website that I designed and update myself, www.blue3racing.com. My email address is jackthedentist@hotmail.com if anyone would like to contact me.
