Jack Booth began motorcycle racing in 2002, and as an eight year old was thrown in at the deep end competing in the British minimoto championships. In that first season he finished in a creditable 9th place in Junior Lights. The following year, 2003 again competeing in Junior Lights, he managed an astonishing 2nd place behind Scott Redding, he also competed in the PG minimoto class where he finished the season in 4th place, the class was won by Alex Gault.
In 2004 Jack raced junior lights and the PG class ending the season in 3rd place Junior Lights and British Champion PG Class following in Alex’s footsteps. In 2005 Jack raced Junior Cadets and also moved up to Metrakit 50cc finishing in 3rd place Junior Cadets and 4th place Metrakit 50cc. In 2006 Jack raced Metrakit 70cc and also began racing a Metrakit 80 in formula 80 and F125 classes throughout the UK, Jack had a great season in 2006 ending the year with 3rd overall Metrakit 70cc class and taking 80cc class wins at Mallory and York he also campaigned the Metrakit 80 in many F 125 classes and never finished outside the top 8 in any 125 race he competed in.

For 2007 Jack was due to compete in the Derbi challenge until in late February of ‘07 we found out that there were only two bikes in the entire series ! So, at the last minute, we decided to go the Aprilia route, a ‘98 road bike was bought and a van load of spares from Alex Heaton’s dad Andy. With no time to get any pre season practice in it was a matter of learning and setting up the bike in races, even so Jack was never out of the top 6 in his first three races of ‘07 and from April on was not out of the top three with two second place finishes at Aintree(set fastest lap), 2 second places at Anglesey(again set fastest lap), four second places and a third place at Mallory, two class wins at three sisters and and three 1sts at Knockhill in the ultra competitive Scottish F125 class. Although the second of these 3 wins was subsequently ruled out as Jack was penalised 25 seconds for an alledged yellow flag infringment on lap one of the eight lap race in which Jack passed the chequered flag some 13 second ahead of the second place finisher.

Probably Jacks best race of 2007 came at Mallory Park in October where although Jack only finished in third place he did so after pulling to the side of the track to replace a loose wire which had caused the bike to cut out, he then re-entered the race with significant time and places to make up.
For 2008 Jack will race the Aprillia again in Scotland and England and will suppliment this with outings on a Honda RS125 loaned by Dave Wadsworth, Max Wadsworth’s Dad, thanks Dave !
