On friday we booked in for practice, we had the new metrakit 80cc with us to test. It is a nice bike to ride and we spent the day trying things with the suspension and carb set up. On the final session it strarted to rain so we could not try last set up but the bike was working well.
Saturday
On saturday it was qualifying, I went out on my metrakit 80cc not the new one as we could not check final set up so i used my other bike. I qualified 10th, my best lap was 58.442 and I was 1.932 off the pole which for my 80cc was not bad. In the race i was having a good battle with Dan doc and Alex Vellia on the aprilia 125cc it was good racing and i have the marks on my leathers to prove it, what a buzz!, in the race i got 8th place out of 23 bikes i got top metrakit and my lap time was 57.071 and my average speed was 73.472. In the second race i got 9th this time dan doc beat me to the line my best lap time was 57.747 it was a good race with dan again my average speed was 72.775 and dans was 72.777 close one.
Sunday
On sunday we had a 5 minuet practice in the morning so i took the new bike to test to check the other setting it was good but i went with my other bike as it was working well. In the first race again it was close racing with dan again and going in to clearways my knee touched his front tyre which was great fun and the way racing should be. I got 8th place and i was top metrakit in the race the wind was strong all weekend so we now have one race left. Race 2 on the sunday got a good start and went with the leaders but on lap 2 or 3 some one came off in front off me going in to druids and I had to hit the brakes and lost time on the leaders, I had a good gap on the 9th place rider.
Next up is Cadwell Park with the mro superteens in august hope to race the new Metrakit 80cc. Like to give a shout out to Robbie Brichford who had a good weekend as he has not had a lot of time on his bike due to engine probs keep in going.
