Jason Douglas

Jason Douglas Racing

My name is Jason Douglas and I am 14 years old, from Larkhall in Scotland. I started racing minimoto when I was 6 years old in the Scottish Championship, the bike was a polini 4.2 gp1 i loved this bike it was given to me by Macintosh mini bikes.

In my first year on the bike i finished 9th in the Scottish championship, in my second year i finished 4th ,and in my 4th year I won the scottish title. In 2006 I still had my mini bike and my dad got me a metrakit 50cc these bikes are mini gp 12inch wheels and raced at national kart tracks along with MMRA British minimoto championship events.

In 2006 I won the 50cc metrakit class and the Scottish minimoto title and finished 2nd in the British minimoto championship aswell as taking first place in the one off UK minimoto championship, as you can see it was alot off racing but I love racing bikes. In 2007 I moved up to 70cc metrakit, this was a big step but I learned quickly, it was a new bike which i got from fab-racing. We had some set up problems but it came good in the end i took 2nd place in the championship only missing out by 12 points. Not bad for my first time as i missed out on testing in Spain due to the late arrival of the bike so the rest of the field had a head start on me but that is racing.

In December fab-racing gave me a chance to race the pre-gp 125cc metrakit at Valencia in Spain, this was a big jump but I went for it. The weekend did not start well as the bike seized at the end of the first lap, at the end of the straight but I qualified and finished in 2nd place.

In 200- i raced metrakit 80cc against Aprilia 125cc in the MRO and EMRA competitions. My first round was at Donington Park, I got a 4th, 8th, 6th and in the last race which was dry i was leading and got caught behind back marker i tried to go round it at the Esses and hit a damp patch and lost the front, very upset but hey.

In 2010 I will be racing in Thundersport GB Gp3 championship i would like to compete in BSB GP 125 championship but due to lack of funds it does not look like this will happen, so if you or someone you know can help get in contact. The Thundersport championship is shown on tv on motors tv. I will not be able to do all the races due to funds but will do as much as i can.

I would like to thank www.fab-racing.co.uk for all their help and Macintosh mini bikes (www.polini.co.uk ) for the start in bike racing. However I need help to continue and, yes it is the same old story money and gear if any one or any company can help me in any way as i travel from Scotland to England and Wales to race, it cost my dad and mum a lot i give 110% to the sport I love and would love to win more. If you can help me contact my dad Craig at douglas.c@blueyonder.co.uk www.jason-douglas.co.uk
