Jonathan and James Lodge begin their pre-season testing

Jonathan Lodge and his brother James were testing at Silverstone and Cadwell park last weekend, here is a report on how the testing went from Jonathan.
The temperature only got to about 4 degrees both days and we had to wait till 11am for ice to melt on the track on sunday at Cadwell.
Despite this I must say the tyres are easier to get heat into than the 125 slicks and I was managing to do some reasonable times, I managed some high 1:37s around Cadwell full circuit, but mainly in the 1:38s. I was quite pleased with this with it been my 1st time on the new bike and the far from temperate conditions!!
James had a bit of an unfortunate weekend with a blow up at Silverstone which we fixed and got him out for the rest of the day, but the water in the bike froze overnight in the van cracking a cylinder. The spare bike had also done the same so he didn’t manage to get out on the 125 that day, but he enjoyed a quick blast on the R6 towards the end of the day.
The new bike is fantastic, I can’t compare it to the GSXR I had a go on towards the end of last year and it still has the standard road gearing and the standard fueling. I will be doing as many trackdays from now till april as I can as we cant really afford to go to Spain.
