Kieran Moorley Payne

Kieran was first inspired to jump on a motorcycle after seeing a picture of Carl Foggarty with his knee down in his friends bedroom. Undertaking a race school with Ron Haslam Racing Academy along with a full season as a mechanic for the Virgin media superbike team Kieran was inspired by his inspiration Troy Bayliss to race at the top level of racing.
Set off for Snetterton really positive after a good solid round at Donington qualifying 11th and finishing 16th in the race just outside
the points.
Friday’s free practice went well starting the session with a good dry set up which meant Kieran soon settled putting in some good consistant times which saw him end up with a best time of 1.12 which left him 18th out off 55 and only a second of the fastest time of the session with just 1.8 seconds split the top 40 !
Friday’s 1st qualifying got of to a hectic start with the heavens opening as we made our way to the pits, we quickly changed for a wet set up and ended up 2nd on the timing sheets before pitting to switch back to our dry setting (big thanks to Rob Mac’s mechanics for thier help whom Kieran worked with last year).
Back on track Kieran quickly settled down and consistently ran in the top 10 before pitting with 5 minutes to go to try and improve the suspension set up only to be relegated to 21st with a best lap of mid 1.12 only 1.4 of provisional pole and having rode considerably better than 21st suggests.

Saturdays 2nd qualifying got underway in dry conditions with a plan to pit and change the part scrubbed rear for a new tyre mid way through the session only for it to be red flagged as we pitted, the session was restarted but red flagged again preventing Kieran from getting into a good rythem.Kieran ended up 19th with a best time of 1.11 is quickest of the weekend so far and only 0.7 seconds off the pole setters time again only 2 seconds splitting the top 40.
Raceday and dry conditions.Kieran made a good start from the 5th row holding his position on the first lap then steadily moving up the field making excellent progress moving through to 16th on lap 10 setting his fastest lap of the 1.11 and settling into a really smooth fast pace only for the race to be red flagged and declared a result!
Gutted to be be out of the points in 16th after looking like a few more place were well within reach but got to be happy with equalling our best result of the year so far. ( Watch this space !)
