After such a successful 2008 season, 2nd in EMRA and NGRRC Formula 125cc Championships with many race wins and podium placings and top ten finishes in Aprilia Superteens with a best result of 2nd place at Cadwell Park.

Sam has now secured a Team ride with the highly competitive and successful Knight Road Race Team http://www.knightroadraceteam.co.uk he was selected from 30 riders of all ages and experience that the team owners, Alan and Charlotte Knight, were considering.

He will be competing on a race prepared Ducati 800cc air-cooled twin cylinder machine, which is supplied and maintained by the Knight Team and February has seen Sam busy working with the team testing and setting up the the Ducati at Mallory Park circuit and Silverstone, in preparation for the first race of the season at Mallory Park on 13-15 March 2009.

Sam says

I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity by Alan and Charlotte Knight to ride such a well prepared bike. Although its a big step from a 125cc machine, I feel that I am ready for the challenge and hope to do well for the Team in the Junior Powerbike Championship

He will be one of the youngest riders at 15yrs, competing in the Junior Powerbike class with Thundersport GB, on all the major circuits around the country with full TV coverage on Motors TV, 7pm Monday evenings, 2 weeks following the event.

Once again he will be competing in support races at the biggest motorcycling event of the year – the MOTO GP at Donington Park on 23-26th July, rubbing shoulders with big Motorcycling stars such as Valentino Rossi and James Toseland

Although the bike is supplied and maintained by the Knight Team, Sam has to fund his entry fees and tyres to compete. He has been successful in securing half of the funds needed from Unipart Automotive, Purbrook Garage Services, Havant Borough Council and Motodirect.
