2007 was Sam’s breakthrough season where he began to make a name for himself on the amateur club racing scene. Sam was able to rack up many podiums and race wins, gaining his National race license along the way on his journey towards the professional ranks.
In 2006 Sam started road racing in the Rookie 600 series. Sam adapted himself to riding street-based bikes quickly; before his first season he had never ridden anything other than motocross-based bikes before! Sam caught the eye of Brian Nicholson towards the end of his first season, Brian is an ex factory Honda british supersport rider himself and has eversince been in Sam’s corner.
In two short years Sam has come a long way on a low budget. 2008 should be an incredible year for the Leicestershire youngster as with the expertise of MKW Triumph around him during 2008, it could be an even more impressive year than 2007.
