Teenager swaps Omagh for Spain
Omagh teenager Nicole McAleer swapped a cold and damp Omagh, Northern Ireland for a warm sunny Cartagena, Spain last week when she and the rest of the SP125 Racing team headed to warmer climes for some pre season testing for the forthcoming 2009 British Championships.

McAleer who is now in her second year with the team, (which incidentally won the British 125GP Championship last season with her now ex team mate and now Grand Prix rider Matt Hoyle), has been eager to get back on the little 125cc Honda since the end of last season and thoroughly enjoyed the three day test.
Testing went well for the whole team, who spent two half hour session and four twenty minute sessions out on track in approximately 20 degrees Spanish sunshine. Each session she was getting quicker and by the end of the test she was happy that the bike and her are in peak condition for the first race of the season at Brands Hatch in April. McAleer commented that; “that bike was good and strong, the front wheel was in the air most of the time!!”
Not only did the teenager spend time training on the track but also off track in the evening she did some skipping which she combines with her boxing and cycling to help her fitness levels.
Before McAleer finally gets to kick start her 09 season she will be appearing at the Ballymoney Bike Show on Saturday 27th February.
