Foreword
We would like to say many thanks to everybody who is taking the time to find out about this. The £1.00 Future Stars Fund, all that is being said at present is to generate interest and feedback and when we are certain the time is right and everything is in place we will then go live. I am working on the structure and this will be announced shortly.
THE FUTURE STARS FUND?
I will start with a question…… How many of you out there that first had a passion to ride a motorcycle had the very first thought……. “I could be the next”……. Duke, Hailwood, Ivy, Read, Ago, Sheene, Parrish, right through to Jefferies, Mcguinness, Toseland or Rossi to name but a few. We have all had that dream.

To all of you that now love motorcycles and motorcycle racing, even those of you who use a motorcycle or scooter to commute, Could one day be standing as one to applaud a British world champion that you personally helped and assisted in putting them on the top step of the podium.
An impossible dream I hear you say…… NOT SO PEOPLE !! One day we will gladly turn around and say “no” it has been your efforts that has put them there so Thank you!!!
THE £1 FUTURE STARS FUND?
What’s this then?….I hear you say. I say to all who reads this, It is a dream, a thought and a discussion that took place over a pint at a local bike meet, that has grown into the people involved wanting to give something back to the sport that over the years has given so much to those with a passion. The expectation, the highs, the lows, the excitement and the grief and the local weekly bike meets where the previous weekends racing is so passionately discussed, taken apart bend by bend, gear by gear and due acclaim given to the victor.
A QUID!!!!! What does that get you these days, A can of coke and a bag of crisps, I was going to say flowers for your partner when they ask “where the hell have you been?!?” or “how far away is that bloody shop?!?”, when you have just nipped out on your bike. But a Quid wont by you flowers now!!! Not even a last stop petrol station bunch.
A QUID!!!! Wouldn’t even buy you a pack of condoms even if they did believe you!!
A QUID!!! – What could a quid buy? A loaf of bread, a pint of milk, tub of butter, British Superbike Champion? World Superbike Champion? Moto GP Champion?
THE LAST THREE FOR A QUID???? – BOLLOX I hear you say. Our efforts will become reality not bollox people.
The One Pound Future Stars Fund is exactly what it says, if all the biking public in the country donated just one pound it would enable us to finance the top 20 most talented youngsters in the country to achieve their dreams of one day becoming Moto GP World Champion, and then for them to turn round and say Thank You to all the British bikers and British public who helped him or her to achieve their ultimate dream.

But it doesn’t end there, this fund will be on going year after year, the fund would carry on financing the best young talent Britain has to offer and secure the future of british motorcycle racing not only at national level but on the worlds stage as a whole.
SO WHAT COULD A QUID BUY THEN?? If your passion is as deep and strong as ours it could buy you the satisfaction of seeing the next British World Champion. (this one day could be your son or daughter).
So the next time you visit your local bike dealer, bike meet, track day, club day, race day talk to the people around you and please give this fund your support and ideas whether positive or negative and feed them back to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this statement.
PLEASE…. Don’t do anything now !!!!!
At this moment in time we are currently in talks with the registered charity commission, Bike Sport News, MotorCycle News, Motorcycle Monthly, Brands Hatch Racing. And in the near future will be contacting all the major motorcycle publications i.e. Fast Bikes, Superbike, Two Wheels Only to name but a few. So Please keep watching this space for regular updates!!!
Thanks,
S.Hibbert. / S. Dunn

Excellent idea! Count on our support! How about entering a complete team rather than an individual? That way you can provide for those who are maybe not quite up to scratch on the bike. There are many openings for enthusiastic youngsters within a racing team. We would be only too happy to lend our support for such an idea.

this sounds to be a really good idea !!!! afterall we all cant have the ability to be a ridin god & ive bin tryin fer 30 odd years!!!! but if my quid actually did make some kid with a talent make it , AND make him a lot less egotistical and respect the humble beginnins he came from.. I personally would feel proud that i did mi bit. be nice to have another brit champion after these years of drought. I say go fer it, wot you got to lose !!!

Good to speak to you earlier Steve and good luck with the Future Stars Fund. We’ve got plenty of very good young talent out there but too many are lost due to lack of funding. Other countries are quick to support their riders fund them year in and year out, that’s the way forward for sure.
If you can get a fraction of your enthusiasm to rub off on the right people you’ll be a success.
Best of luck to Jay for the 2008 season.

I’ve posted this on other bike forums and have had mixed responses. However, like Steve & Stuart, Mark and I in GP Future (www.gpfuture.com) are committed to helping make this work. There are too many people saying “it won’t work”. It is those people who want to see the success but can’t be ar$ed to actually do anything about it themselves. As I said; you can count us in for anything you need assistance with.
Keep in touch, Steve and we’ll be doing the same.

Hi Steve, I have seen the feed back on other sites and it is mixed, but i also share your enthusiasm for this project. As an ex racer and father of one, i know how hard it is to attract sponsorship. If there is anything i can do to help please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will see you in BSB 600 stocks for some good hearted rivalry, regards Andy

hi andy have tried to send you an email through matts website but it dosent work send us yor email either here or on jays site http://www.jaydunn.co.uk then can forward copies of the fund info, we are
mainly concentrating on jays funding at moment but still doin a bit with the fund. we hope to make evrybody in racing aware before end of season and then proper launch if we get the support of The Racing Circuit Owners Association. The collectors are the hardest to convince not the givers. if you after receiving info can then just keep telling people and sending copies out then well get there.
Cheers steve, jay and stuart.
