They say bad luck comes in three’s, well the first two came at Croft last weekend when first the dry and then the wet bike seized in practice. We managed to get the dry bike running again with a well used standard cylinder which was down to the alloy in places and a borrowed piston on which the bottom ring was seized. The bike ran if you bump started it but was well down on power, still Jack managed a 5th and a sixth in Sundays races.
When we got home and stripped both bikes we found the problem,Our EX parts supplier had inadvertently supplied OVERSIZE pistons for the new cylinders he had also supplied !! So two expensive engine rebuilds later we are ready for Knockhill and the first round of the Scottish championship.
All was going great until Friday when Jack came home from school and said he had hurt his left arm in games, and was still complaining at 7 O’clock.Three hours and a trip to the hospital later and he has his left arm in plaster with a suspected broken scafoid bone and instructions to return to hospital on Monday for further X-rays when the swelling has gone down.
Things can only get better from here on in and we are now looking forward to getting the season started as soon as the arm is healed.
